Organic Unity in Pre-Islamic Poetry

Abstract

The research aimed to attempt to root the term organic unity in the Arab critical heritage theoretically and in analytically to pre-Islamic poetry. The historical-analytical approach was adopted. The research was presented in two sections; The first: theorizing the concept of organic structure in ancient criticism, the second: Critical application through Imr’u-l-Qais hanged Poem. The most important results are: The term organic unity has is present among ancient Arab critics such as Ibn Qutaybah, Ibn Tabataba and the critical analysis of Imr’u-l-Qais’ hanged poem proved that it has an organic unity. This is evidence that the concept of organic unity is original among the Arabs at the level of poem construction and with critics as well.
