Suggested Model For Enhancing The Scientific Research At Yemeni Universities

Abstract

This research aims at establishing a suggested model for enhancing the scientific research at Yemeni universities in order to connect the scientific research with the needs of the society and use it to carry out the plans of development through the following sub-objectives:

• Evaluating the reality of scientific research quality at Yemeni universities.
• Introducing a suggested model for enhancing the scientific research at Yemeni universities.

For these objectives to be achieved, the researcher has used the structural, analytical and descriptive methodology which depends on collecting facts and information, then comparing, analyzing and interpreting them in order to arrive to acceptable generalizations. This will be a way to identify the reality of scientific research quality at Yemeni universities. Then, introducing a suggested model for enhancing the scientific research at Yemeni universities. This model has five main fields: legal and administrative sides, funding the researches, financial and professional sides, sides related to the researcher, and designing the scientific research which are considered signs of scientific research quality.

The instrument of the research is a questionnaire designed to collect data and information. This questionnaire has five areas that contain (95) items. The sample of the research is a group of experts, who are (30), from Taiz University and Ibb University. The research has arrived to a group of results.  The most prominent result is that there is high degree of approval of the various indicators, which included all the elements of the proposed model. The results also ensured that the scientific research at Yemeni universities needs to be developed and enhanced in order to encounter all the types of the competitive and reformed pressures. Moreover, the study has determined some considerations that should be taken by Yemeni universities during applying this model.
