Abstract

The current research aims to identify the reality of quality assurance for academic programs in Aden University from the perspective of deans and their deputies and heads of academic departments, research sample represented all deans and their deputies and heads of academic departments in colleges of the University of Aden, who numbered (101).

The researchers adopted the British agency standards to ensure quality in determining the academic program components  that should be subject to evaluation, in light of this determination They estimate Penta staging questionnaire, composed of six axes included (76) items. The questionnaire validity was assured using the chi square to examine thesignificant differences in the degree of approval of the experts that was not less than about 90% on all items. also used Chronbakh Alpha equation to calculateits reliability, which was reached to (0.80). The researchers also adopted estimates system used by the British Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education to explain judgments about the quality of academic programs i.e.[100–80 Good, 79–65 Acceptable, >65 Week]

 

          To replying the questions the researchers used arithmetic means, and standard deviations to extrapolate the level of the sample estimates, also used the analysis of variance method to examine the significances of the differences between the views, according to a number of variables (scientific title, occupation, experience, and college). The search results showed that it is not at the desired level, as these results are generally revealed low of reality programs in the University of Aden, with all its components, both in terms of objectives and outputs, or curriculum and associated field exercises, or teaching methods and methods of learning assessment, or in terms of learning resources available, as well as the services and care provided by those programs for the learner.

The research found a number of recommendations and suggestions addressed to stakeholders and decision-makers to take the appropriate decisions to improve the quality of academic programs by reference to external reference points for quality assurance and down toward winning academic based in the future.
