Abstract

This study deals with Imam Ibn Nur al-Din al-Muza'i and his scientific efforts, and its importance comes as it studies a scholarly and intellectual figure who had an effective impact on the service of Islamic sciences in the Yemeni - education and classification -. The study came with the aim of revealing the life of this scientific figure, and the scientific and intellectual efforts he presented in the field of Islamic sciences and knowledge. The researcher adopted the historical method and the inductive and analytical approach to achieve this study. Then, this research was divided into an introduction and three chapter and a conclusion. The first chapter was devoted to defining the personality of Ibn Nur al-Din al-Muza’i and his scientific life, and the second chapter was devoted to studying the political, social and intellectual circumstances that coincided with the era of Ibn Nur al-Din, and their influence on his scientific and intellectual life. As the third chapter was dedicate to investigate the scientific and intellectual efforts presented by this personality in the field of science and knowledge, and the concluding chapter stated the results of the study, perhaps the most important of which is that Imam Ibn Nur al-Din al-Muza’i is considered one of the most prominent scholars of the Shafi’i school of thought in the century The ninth Hijri, and this imam was also distinguished by being an encyclopedic scholar, with a great mind, critical thought, a broad participant, and a co-author of books in various Islamic sciences: such as fundamentals of religion, language, interpretation, jurisprudence and its origins, and other Islamic sciences.
