Abstract

The study aims to shed light on the manifestations of alienation and longing in Al-Zaidani's poetry with particular reference to his poems collection "Ashjan Al-Ghorbah" (Yearnings of Alienation). The study is divided into an introduction, a theoretical framework, and two main sections. The first section dealt with the vision and how it is portrayed in the poet's collection "Ashjan Al-Ghorbah,". The second section focused on the aspect of artistic expression, including the poem titles, artistic imagery, and musical rhythm. The study findings showed that alienation was embodied in its temporal and spatial dimensions within the vision and artistic expression. It was also concluded that the poet's verses, with their undulating rhythms, projected the rhythms of alienation and longing in the poet's psyche.
