The Novel "The Fog Came... the Fog Departed": An Environmental Perspective Reading

Abstract

#The purpose of this research is to provide an environmental perspective reading of the novel "The Fog Came... the Fog Departed" by the author Mohamed Abdelwakil Gazm. The analytical method was employed in this study, which consists of two sections: the visionary structure and the artistic structure. The most significant findings indicate that the novel "The Fog Came... the Fog Departed" is a unique work in its vision and artistic structure, as it utilizes the environment as a starting point for constructing its space. The research explores the quest for self-identity within the environment, comparing urban and rural settings. The artistic structure is manifested through language, imagery, character development, and setting. The vision and artistic structure converge in portraying the novel's focus on the environment.
