Abstract

The research aims to identify the historical origins of Arab-Islamic diplomacy until the Umayyad era. The descriptive approach is adopted. The research starts with an introduction followed by three sections and a conclusion; the first section is on the embassies in the pre-Islamic era, the second covers the embassies during the Prophet era and the third section is on the embassies during the Umayyad era). The three sections are followed by a conclusion. The main results of the research are: Diplomacy flourished in the era of the Prophet more than before, with the motive of spreading Islamic concepts by sending delegations to kings. This continued during the Rightly Guided Caliphs and Umayyad eras, which led to the development of the Diplomatic norms.
