This study aimed to introduce briefly Imam Ali ibn al-Hussein (may Allah be pleased with him) and his fiqh linguistically and conventionally, and define sales linguistically and conventionally. It also aimed to show his fiqh in sale provisions concerning some cases, namely selling something at a higher price than its past time for the sake of higher price, selling until the time of payment, and selling food from a debtor at the same value of the debt. All these cases were compared with both similar and opposing provisions of companions, followers, and imams who came after him, showing the reasons behind those differences supported by evidences, each, and the sound-correct ones. All these issues were supported by providing examples of contemporary applications. The most significant conclusions of the study showed that Imam Ali's fiqh was accurate, highly case-inferred, the sale ones in particular, highly put in fiqh literature in comparison with the ones of his contemporaries and those of imams who came after him, and useful and effective in contemporary issues.
