Publication Ethics
Following the ethical principles outlined below helps ensure the integrity and credibility of published research. Researchers, editors, and reviewers are expected to adhere to these principles, as well as to stay informed about evolving ethical standards and best practices in scientific publishing, which are essential for all parties involved in the publication process.
For Researchers:
The journal is committed to the publication standards set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Researchers (authors) are required to comply with all of the following guidelines, and failure to do so may result in the rejection of their research:
- Ensure the authenticity, credibility, and accuracy of the research results.
- Sign a declaration confirming ownership of the research, its authenticity, and that it has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The researcher must also adhere to the publication ethics set by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
- Use proper citation and attribution for any previous works referenced in the research.
- Obtain necessary permissions for using copyrighted materials.
- Be responsive and make recommended revisions from reviewers.
- The research must not promote any topics related to sectarianism, race, region, etc.
For Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to comply with all of the following guidelines:
- Maintain the confidentiality of the research and its content.
- Provide constructive, unbiased feedback to the editor and authors.
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Remain neutral and avoid personal biases in the review process.
- Complete the review process within the agreed upon timeline.
- Do not use information from the research for personal gain.
- Ensure the authenticity and credibility of the research.
- Comply with data protection regulations.
For Editors:
Editors must ensure compliance with all of the following guidelines:
- Ensure a fair and unbiased review process for all submitted articles.
- Maintain the confidentiality of materials submitted to the journal.
- Avoid any conflicts of interest in decision-making.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to authors.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of published research.
- Handle any concerns or complaints from authors or readers in a professional manner.
- Promote ethical and responsible research practices.
- Encourage diversity and inclusivity in published research.
- Handle retractions, corrections, or updates appropriately.
- Comply with data protection regulations.
Examples of conflicts of interest that editors should avoid include:
- Having a personal or professional relationship with the author of the submitted research.
- Receiving funding or support from a company or organization that may influence the publication of a specific research.
- Expressing bias or personal opinion that may affect the editorial decision-making process.
- Having a financial interest in the subject or topic presented in the research.
- Competing with the author for publication or recognition.
- Having a conflict with the author's institution or workplace.
- Being a co-author in the submitted research.
- Being a close colleague or mentor of the author.
- Having a familial relationship with the author.
- Having a conflict of interest with any of the assigned reviewers for the research.
Journal Editorial Board:
The publication ethics for a journal's editorial board includes:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of all submitted research and related communications.
- Ensuring the integrity and quality of the publication process.
- Treating all authors, reviewers, and editorial team members with respect and professionalism.
- Providing clear and transparent guidelines for peer review and publication.
- Handling any conflicts of interest in a fair and unbiased manner.
- Taking appropriate action in cases of ethical violations.
- Regularly reviewing and updating policies and procedures related to publication ethics.
- Maintaining transparency and accountability in all editorial and administrative decisions.
- The journal maintains strict standards and will not publish research that does not comply with its established criteria, and reserves the right to remove published research from its website and associated databases if it is found to be in violation of the stated standards.
