Characteristics and basic rules for environmental management systems (ISO 1400), reality and obstacles of application in Yemeni industrial institutions: a field study in Taiz Governorate

Abstract

This article aims to present a theoretical account of the basic charateristics and rules of environmental management systems, and the basic requirements for their application. The study employs the descriptive analytical approach. It is divided into two sectionsincludes a general theoretical introduction. The study design and procedures were discussed. It concludes that public awareness towards environmental issues is weak; Yemeni industrial institutions seem to be not aware of implementing these systems.
