Economic reform program in Yemen: a future vision

This article aims to study and analyze the economic situation in Yemen. It also aims to get to know the economic impacts of the economic reform program in Yemen, illuminating whether the program has had a positive impact on the economic stability. The study employs the analytical descriptive approach. It is divided into an introduction about the research topic and four sections. The first section is about the economic situation before the economic reforms of 1990-1994, the second addresses the phases of the economic reforms program implementation, the third section presents the impacts and results of the economic reform program implementation, and the fourth deals with the future of the economic reforms program. The research concludes with very important findings and recommendations such as reforms were largely concentrated on the fiscal and monetary sides, and the reform program has a number of side effects that accompanied its implementation or resulted in the decline of the real income level and the consumption for the middle and low-income groups.
