Abstract

This article aims to elucidate the importance and effectiveness of convention in various societies, showing how important it is as a source of jurisprudence. The study employs the descriptive approach. It is divided into an introduction and four sections. Section 1 defines convention manifesting its origin, importance and uses. Section 2 clarifies its constituents, rules, and variety source. Section 3 addresses the types of convention and habit, showing the relation between them. Section 4 identifies the extension of convention and the power of habit and its influence on souls. The study concludes that convention has power and acceptance in the society. Following these sound conventions and habits affirms the tolerance of Sharia, and its flexibility, being valid for every time and place.
