International challenges of human development in Arab countries: a study of international challenges during 1990-2005

This article aims to get to know the international challenges of human development and the United Nations’ attitude towards it, pointing out its impact on human development in Arab countries. The study employs the descriptive and analytical approach. It is divided into an introduction and two sections. Section 1 addresses the challenges encountered during human development in Arab countries. Section 2 tackles the American hegemony, globalization and ambivalence of the United Nations. It concludes that the most distinguished act of international challenges is the repeal of necessary factors needed to achieve human development, including independent national administration and the possible resources of Arab countries.
