Behavioral objectives in teaching mathematics to first secondary grade and extent of achieving them in the textbook in the Republic of Yemen

This article aims to get to know the behavioral objectives in first secondary grade textbook, being dire needs for the educational process. The study employs the descriptive approach. It is divided into an introduction to behavioral objectives and six sections. Section 1 addresses definition and importance of behavioral objectives. Section 2 presents classifications of behavioural objectives. Section 3 tackles the fields of behavioural objectives. Section 4 discusses the role of behavioural objectives in the educational process. Section 5 presents the objectives of teaching mathematics. Section 6 analyzes the questionnaire and discusses the results. It concludes that 90% of behavioral objectives are not clear in the textbook, that 80% represents lack of training and qualification courses for teachers in teaching mathematics, and 80% lack of educational activities and aids compatible with the curriculum.
