Abstract

This article aims to correct the age distribution of the Yemen population registered in 2004. The study employs the statistical descriptive and analytic approach. It is divided into an introduction and 2 sections. Section 1 discusses the theoretical background. Section 2 tackles the statistical treatment which comprises evaluating the age distribution of registered population. The study concludes that:

  1. As of comparison, a model indicates that more than 55% of the population is under age of 20 years, thus making the population growth rate high for decades to come.
  2. The age distribution was corrected with appropriate statistical models to avoid any arbitrariness, accompanying the use of other correction models, in contrary to what most demographers used to.
