Proposal for developing teacher preparation and training programs at the Faculty of Education in Yemeni Universities: in light of quality standards

This article aims to identify the current status of teacher preparation and training programs in the Faculties of Education in Yemeni Universities. It was noticed that there has been no development for the preparation and training programs since the establishment of the Faculties of Education. The study employs the statistical and descriptive approach. It is divided into and introduction and two sections. Section 1 discusses the rationale of the study including its objectives and statement of the problem. It also addresses the theoretical framework and previous studies. Section 2 presents the proposal for developing teacher preparation and training programs. The study concludes that the proposal advanced in this study for developing teacher preparation and training programs is promising. It proposes that study period be five academic years, with a total of 170 credit hours.
