An experimental methodology, with pre- and post-tests, involving two equal groups: control and experimental. The control group was taught by using the traditional teaching method while the experimental one was taught by using the collaborative learning. The study revealed a number of findings; the most important ones were: there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the science achievement test which was exposed to collaborative learning and those of the control group which was exposed to the traditional teaching method in favor of the experimental group; and there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the learning retention post-test of the experimental group which was exposed to the collaborative learning and those of the control group which was exposed to the traditional teaching method in favor of the experimental group.
