Abstract

#The aim of this research is to study the ternary chemical interactions of low molecular weight alcohols in order to gain a better understanding of the ternary reactions of fatty alcohols. The research follows an experimental methodology and is divided into an introduction, two sections, and a conclusion. The introduction discusses the significance of the study and its theoretical framework. The first section focuses on conducting laboratory experiments using a steel ball-on-aluminum disk friction system to generate ternary chemical reactions on the aluminum disk. The experiments aim to observe and analyze the chemical reactions that occur when low molecular weight alcohols are involved.  The second section presents and discusses the results obtained from the experiments. Additionally, surface analysis of the formed deposits on the disk is performed using infrared spectroscopy. The analysis aims to provide insights into the surface characteristics and composition of the deposits. The conclusion summarizes the key findings, including the discovery of new absorption differences in the 1530-1550 cm⁻¹ region and the presence of double bonds in the 1600-1650 cm⁻¹ region. The research also identifies constant values for the CI-C4 alcohols, which control the corrosion of the steel ball in both steel-on-steel and steel-on-aluminum systems.
