Abstract

#Translation: This research aims to study the difficulties faced by translators when translating scientific and technical abbreviations into the Arabic language. The research followed a descriptive analytical approach and was divided into an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter discussed previous studies, while the second chapter analyzed the formulation of English abbreviations and their rephrasing in the Arabic language. The third chapter proposed solutions to overcome these difficulties. The conclusion included the most significant findings, such as the translator's responsibility to transfer English abbreviations into the Arabic language as they are and to explain their implications if necessary. Additionally, the translator should be knowledgeable in both English and Arabic cultures.
