Guidance Needs of High School Students in Fagira Education Region

Abstract

This study aimed to know the situation of guidance at high schools in Fagira Region by addressing the responses of a sample of 60 teachers concerning this problem. This sample was selected randomly from Fagira Education Region who received a questionnaire to know the nature of the guidance problems with students. Then, their responses were classified into five areas: academic, behaviour, family, health, and psychology. After analysing and discussing them, a number of recommendations were introduced, e.g., establishing a guidance committee at school to prepare an inspection and guidance plan, knowing both good and bad behaviours, and their causes by the school to solve them; establishing a social and educational council of students' guardians and some teachers to look for problems, utilizing from psychologists to solve any psychological problem with students, etc.
