A Proposed Model for Mechanism of Applying Re-Engineering Administrative and Academic Processes at Yemeni Universities

This study aimed to design a model for the mechanism of applying re-engineering administrative and academic processes at Yemeni universities by knowing the technique of re-engineering processes, its concept, nature, methodologies, application requirements, basics, and constraints; and diagnose the situation of Yemeni universities on the bases of the findings of Yemeni specialized studies and the official reports of specialized government authorities. An analytical descriptive approach was used in this study. The research was divided into two sections. The first section was theoretical which discussed the concepts and previous studies while the second one showed, discussed, and analysed the preparation stages of the mechanism. Finally, a number of findings and recommendations were introduced, e.g., the universities should reconsider their processes of constructing their systematic structure, changing it from the hierarchical system into the flat one, and sharing all in decision making and taking responsibility; granting all universities full powers in managing their affairs, re-engineering all issues related to jobs of all employees, and providing universities with technical programmes for developing their cadres.
