Problems of Academic Guidance with Students of Ajman University for Science and Technology and its Relationship with Counseling

Abstract

This study aimed to know the problems of academic guidance with students of all scientific and human colleges at Ajman University for Science and Technology, their needs for counselling services, and the relationship between academic guidance problems and students' needs for counselling. A questionnaire was designed by the researcher to achieve those objectives to be administered to 174 students at all scientific and human colleges. After analysing the data statistically, using SPSS, the study revealed a number of findings, most notably: there were problems in academic guidance with all scientific and human majorers since joining the university until graduation; there was a need for counselling with all students of the university; and there was a relationship between problems of academic guidance and the need for counselling.
