Revealing Cover on Ten Hadiths Disparaging Women

Abstract

The study aimed to uncover a number of fabricated and false Hadiths pretended to be said by our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which were more common to many people. Such hadiths were adopted by tendentious  and semi-educated people as an excuse to distort Islam’s position towards women. This study limited itself to 10 hadiths due to the nature and size of this paper. It was divided into 10 topics in line the number of hadiths, as follows: The first hadith entitled ''women's lust is twice as men's'', the second hadith entitled ''obeying women is regret'', the third hadith entitled ''Men perished when obeying women'', the fourth hadith entitled ''consult women and oppose them'', the fifth hadith entitled ''seeking help from women in nudity'', the sixth hadith entitled ''do not teach your women to write nor allowing them dwell in high places, the seventh hadith entitled ''women are snares of Satan'', the eighth hadith entitled ''praise be to Allah because burying women is honour'', the ninth hadith entitled ''the best son-in-law is a grave'', and the tenth hadith entitled ''because of women, Allah is not worshiped truly''. It was concluded with showing the rule of these hadiths, according to hadith scholars, was they were not said by the Messenger of Allah (PUBH).
