This study aims to demonstrate real-time operating systems in terms of their design and their impact on work performance. Due to the importance of time, the research focuses on studying these systems in a way that enhances their ability to meet real-time work requirements. The study is divided into an introduction, three sections and a conclusion. The three sections covered topics of classification of real-time operating systems, characteristics and architecture of real-time systems, Kernel, timers, control and management, of operating system, The research main findings showed that implementing modern methods and algorithms in real-time systems was of paramount importance to ensure their ability to meet real-time work requirements.
