Abstract

#This research examines the autobiography of Al-Ajlouni, including his name, lineage, nickname, birth, and upbringing. It also delves into his scholarly biography, highlighting his pursuit of knowledge, academic journeys, and teachers. The research focuses on Al-Ajlouni's methodology in his book "Kashf al-Khafa' wa Muzil al-Ilbas 'Amma Ashtuhir min al-Ahadith 'ala al-Sunnah al-Nasa'". It explains the introduction to the book, the methodology he followed in referencing the narrations, and how he evaluated the Hadiths. It also discusses the sources and references he relied upon in his book. This research demonstrates that one of the reasons behind Al-Ajlouni's authorship of this book was his intention to summarize Al-Sakhawi's book "Al-Maqasid al-Hasanah." He achieved this by omitting the chains of narration mentioned by Al-Sakhawi and focusing solely on the narrators from the Companions and the authors of books. He condensed many books on the subjects of defects and fabricated Hadiths that preceded him, such as Ibn Hajar's "Lisan al-Mizan," Ibn al-Diba'ah's "Tamyiz al-Tayyib min al-Khabith," Al-Suyuti's "Durar Muntaqah," Abu Na`im's "Hilyat al-Awliya," Al-Ghazzi's "Itqan ma Yusahhun min al-Akhbar al-Da'irah 'ala al-Alsana," and Mulla 'Ali al-Qari's "Al-Mashariq," among others. This made his book, "Kashf al-Khafa'," the richest and most comprehensive in terms of content.
