#This research aims to rehabilitate the heritage and historical houses in the Al-Ja'a neighborhood in the ancient city of Ibb as a demand that has become essential to preserve architectural heritage and protect it from distortion and disappearance. Observing the heritage residential neighborhoods in historical cities in general, and Ibb city in particular, one cannot help but feel concerned about their neglect due to current developments and the lack of public awareness of the importance of preserving architectural heritage. Therefore, it has become necessary to conduct studies to renew and rehabilitate these houses in order to contribute to facilitating housing based on well-studied scientific foundations. In light of this, it is evident that establishing an urban planning scheme has become a fundamental requirement, not only to meet the basic needs and essential services for residents but also to contribute to the preservation of this heritage. The research has yielded important results, including the preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, and renewal of heritage houses to enhance the development process and contribute to solving the housing and environmental issues faced by the city. Additionally, improving public and private services and enhancing the conditions for facilitating housing are necessary to reduce population migration outside the ancient city. The question here is whether the implementation of urban planning schemes for residential communities in historical cities in Yemen, in general, and in Ibb city, in particular, will succeed as the focus of this study.
