Abstract

The study aims to investigate anti-corruption official legislative and regulatory frameworks and to propose a strategy for civil society organizations role in fighting corruption. The descriptive and analytical approach was employed.  The study  is divided into an introduction, three sections, and a conclusion. The first chapter dealt with the official legislative and regulatory frameworks in combating corruption. The second chapter analyzed the shortcomings and obstacles in legislation, systems, and institutional work in combating corruption. The third chapter discussed the proposed strategic role of civil society organizations in fighting corruption. The study results showed that there was a dire need for adopting a national program for the National Anti-Corruption Authority with specific and clear objectives, endorsed by professional and specialized sectors, intellectuals, social figures, and civil society organizations, without politicizing the work, objectives, and stakeholders of the authority.
