#The aim of the research is to clarify the issue of the legal basis upon which the liability of international air carriers for passengers is established. The research includes the following aspects:
1. The basis for the establishment of liability of air carriers in the Warsaw Convention (1929).
2. The evolution of the basis for the establishment of liability of air carriers in the amended protocols of the Warsaw Convention (1929).
3. The basis for the liability of air carriers in the Montreal Convention of 1999.
The research has reached a number of results, the most important of which is that the Montreal Convention of 1999, with its establishment of absolute liability, has established a harmonization and integration among various aspects of aviation law. It has formed a link between general aviation law topics and national laws.
