Environmental Pollution, Traffic Congestion, and their Relationship to Urban Planning: A Case Study of Ibb City

#This study aims to address the environmental situation and traffic congestion in Ibb city, identify areas of dysfunction and causes of environmental pollution in light of the city's general plan, and suggest solutions and proposals that align with the city's current condition. The study is divided int the following sections: an introduction to urban planning, the importance of the environmental dimension in urban planning, the historical and architectural background of the old city of Ibb, classification of urban problems and environmental pollution within the city, causes of traffic congestion on internal roads, options for solutions to environmental pollution and noise in cities. The study findings showed there was a need for a thorough review of the current traffic solutions in Ibb city and their arrangement based on the city's general plan to mitigate traffic congestion.
