Abstract

The purpose of this study is to highlight the extent of the relationship between the environment and sustainable development. The study is organized into an introduction, four sections dealing with  international community and organizations' perspectives, environment from an Islamic perspective, contemporary environmental issues, environmental regulations and their relationship to sustainable development, sustainable development, role of the Ministry of Tourism and general authority for the environment, evaluation of negative impacts, and a conclusion. The study findings showed that the process of achieving success in preserving the environment from pollution sources was increasing year after year. Additionally, the environmental degradation affecting people's lives and the country necessitated the implementation of a set of measures, including assessing the current environmental situation and its current state.
