A Proposed Model for Linking the Scientific Research in the Yemeni Universities with the Social and Economical Development

This paper aimed at proposing a model for linking the scientific research in the Yemeni universities with the social and economical development. A descriptive research methodology represented in a questionnaire, following Dolfi's scale, was distributed to a sample of experts selected intentionally. The questionnaire was composed of (49) items categorized into four main fields: scientific research production, scientific research marketing, scientific research supplication, and scientific research application. However, the researcher used some statistical techniques such as frequencies, means, and percentages.
The findings of the research revealed that:
- the vast majority of the participants agreed on the relationship of the field of scientific research production in the Yemeni universities with the social and economical development at (2.95) and (98.33%);
- the vast majority of the participants agreed on the relationship of the field of marketing the scientific research in the Yemeni universities with the social and economical development at (2.69) and (98.67%); and
- the vast majority of the participants agreed on the relationship of the field of supplying and applying the scientific research in the Yemeni universities with the social and economical development at (2.97) and (99 %).
On the basis of the literature review in addition to the results of the participants' agreements on the four fields of the scientific research in the Yemeni universities with the social and economical development, a model having bases, objectives, elements and requirements, was proposed to link the scientific research in the Yemeni universities with the social and economical development.
