Abstract

The research aimed to study the significance of the advancement and delay according to Yahya bin Hamza Al-Alawi in his book Kitab Al-Tiraz. The inductive-analytical approach is followed in this research which is divided into; an introduction about the author’s life and the value of the book, then two sections; the first: the importance of advancement and delay, the second: the types of advancement and delay in the book on the grammatical and non-grammatical levels. Then a conclusion which includes the results. Its most important results are that: Al-Alawi’s study of advancement and delay is more distinct from the rest of the topics, as he dealt in a chapter with its importance and divisions. He used examples to explain its semantic secrets.
