Evaluation of the Arabic Language Teacher Preparation Program in the Faculty of Education at Ibb University in Light of Comprehensive Quality Standards: A Comparative Study and Proposed Framework

This study aimed at evaluating the program of preparing teacher of Arabic language at the two Faculties of education at Ibb University in light of comprehensive quality from the viewpoint of teaching staff and level four students. It also aimed at constructing suggested proposal for developing the program in light of comprehensive quality standards. The research tool was constructed, (two questionnaires), one for the teaching staff members consisting of (128) items, and the other for the Department of Arabic students consisting of (140) items. They were applied on (49) teaching staff members and (51) students of level four at the two Faculties of Education at Ibb University. The results came up with a standardized list of comprehensive quality standards for evaluating the program of preparing teacher of Arabic language. The program got intermediate level. There were significant statistical differences at the level of (0.50) among the sample members (teaching staff members) at the two faculties ascribed to the (educational environment) variable for the favor of teaching staff members at the Faculty of Education – Ibb. A suggested proposal for developing the program was constructed. The study recommended building standards for acceptance policy in the program, as well as prolonging the period of practicum for one year.
