Performance Evaluation of Arabic Language Teachers in Teaching Reading in Light of Creative Teaching Skills in the Basic Education Stage in Qa'ataba Directorate

Abstract

The research aimed at stating the creative teaching skills required to teach reading amount teachers. It also aimed at finding out whether those skills existed in their performance while the teach reading for grade 8 students at Qa'taba District. It also aimed at recognizing difference in performance at the level of planning, implementing and evaluating on the basis of gender variables in light of creative teaching. The descriptive and analytic procedures were followed.  A teaching performance measurement (checklist of performance) was used which consisted of 90 items distributed into 30 creative teaching skills. The instrument was applied on the sample of the study which was 53 school teachers at Qa'taba District, Al-Dhalea Governorate during the period 7-11-2017 to 21-12-2017. The following results were obtained: There was a list of creative teaching. The level of availability of creative teaching skills among Arabic Language teachers was at a medium  level in the three skills (fluency, flexibility and originality), and the three teaching skills were at a medium level. evaluating process came first, implementing came second and planning came third. Also, there was no difference in the mean score of teachers' performance related to gender (males, females The research offered many recommendations one of which is importance of training and preparing teachers according to creative teaching skills. The research suggested that similar studies should be carried out.
