This research has provided a detailed discussion on Imam Al-Ghazali's book ''Al-Ihya'a'', which is the largest and most famous encyclopedia in tazkia (recommendation) and tasawof (Sufism). In it, the Sufi scholars are mentioned, their disciplines, morals, and ways of educating one's soul. The presentation of the topics of the book were dealt consistently, demonstrating his intellectual approach used. The researcher initiated his research by introducing the book, citing its sources, and the attitude of scientists towards it. His position among Hadhrami people formed as a source of Sufism. The research concluded with a number of results, including: the diversity of Al-Ghazali's sources between legitimate, verbal, philosophical and Sufi sources, and the Hadrami Sufi thought derived its philosophy from those of Imam Al-Ghazali, particularly his book ''Al-Ihya'a''. Scientists' attitudes towards this book ranged between appreciation and criticism.
