Abstract

The research aimed to evaluate the preliminary results of the December 2004 General Census of Population, Housing, and Establishments in the Republic of Yemen. The analytical approach is used and the research is divided into three sections; the first: a theoretical framework, the second: the results of the population census in the Republic of Yemen and the third: the population issue and future challenges in the Republic of Yemen. The results showed that, the population growth in Yemen represents a burden on the state in achieving development, as it faces a number of challenges, the most important of which are the water, the food security, the environmental and the migration challenges.
