Solid Waste and Recycling in Taiz City

Abstract

The research aimed to study the methods of dealing with solid waste in Taiz city and the methods of treating and recycling it for using it again in order to maintain a clean environment. The descriptive-analytical approach is used and the research is divided into four sections; the first: the types of waste, the second: sorting and recycling, the third: the current situation of the garbage dump in Taiz city and the fourth: recommendations and suggested alternatives. The results showed that: developing a new practical and scientific vision for how to deal with solid waste through the method of sorting and classifying garbage from the source, providing containers for each type and obliging people to sort and place each type in its container.
