The research aimed to identify the effectiveness of using concept mapping on academic achievement on student achievement in teaching the chemistry course to second year secondary school, scientific section students in comparison with using the traditional method in teaching. The descriptive-analytical approach is followed and the research is divided into five sections; the first: research methodology, the second: the theoretical framework, third: research procedures, fourth: statistical treatment of the experiment results and the fifth is the recommendations and suggestions. The results showed that: the achievement of students who learned using the concept map method in chemistry for the second year of scientific secondary school advanced at a faster rate than students who learned using the traditional method.
