An Evaluative Study of English as a Foreign Language Teacher Preparation Program Taught in the Department of English, College of Education, Al-Nadirah, Ibb University

The research is meant to identify the strengths and weaknesses of teacher preparation program which is being taught in the Department of English, College of Education, Ibb University and suggest procedures for overcoming the weaknesses of the target program. The descriptive analytical approach is followed and the research is divided into; an introduction including the objectives, the statement of the problem, the questions of the study, the significance, limitations, literature review, research methodology, The data analysis, results and suggested procedures for reforming the weaknesses of the target program. The most important results are that: the program was doing well in respect to language proficiency in preparing students to master the language skills. In the EFL courses and teaching methods it provides good experience. The materials of literature and linguisitcs courses were not clear and there are a few speicalized books in the library of the college.
