Abstract

This article aims to address the most important the Holy Qur'an Ayats that are found ambiguous in doctrine, arising much debate in terms of Allah’s Names and Attributes. The study employs the descriptive analytical approach. It is divided into an introduction and five sections. Section 1 examines the Ayats whose apparent meaning seems inappropriate for Allah’s Majesty. Section 2 investigates the Ayats whose apparent meaning contradicts the infallibility of Angels. Section 3 discusses the Ayats whose apparent meaning contradicts with the infallibility of the Prophets (PBUT). Section 4 investigates the Ayats whose apparent meaning contradicts the Sunna doctrine regarding Alqadha' wa Alqadar. Section 5 discusses the Ayats whose apparent meaning contradicts other Ayats concerning the Judgment Day. The study concludes that understanding the differences among scholars ensues from good intention. Those following the interpretative approach seek to exalt Allah from any other creature, diverging to interpreting Allah’s Attributes according to Arabic language, which is language of revelation.
