Abstract

This study aimed to know the effect of mosque on controlling social and ethical behaviours by inducing a number of prophetical hadiths said in and connected to mosque. This paper was divided into eight sections. Section I addressed the effect of mosque on directing the social behaviour and controlling human conducts. Section II addressed the effect of mosque on taking care of woman, respecting her, and paying attention to her rights. Section III dealt with the effect of mosque on taking care of poor and paying attention to them. Section IV dealt with the effect of mosque on self-entertainment. Section V showed the effect of mosque on the need to take care of Muslims' safety. Section VI addressed the effect of mosque on developing taste and aesthetic sense and enacting it in society. Section VII showed the role of mosque in enacting welfare and displaying facilitation. Section VIII addressed the effect of mosque on ensuring the freedom of opinion and expression. Finally, the study found that the generation which was raised by the Prophet on ideals changed from a nomadic generation in behaviour into a high-end one in values and ethics. In effect, their behaviours were directed to what was good while their conducts were controlled by the Islamic sharia rules in all their life aspects and dealings.
