Abstract

This paper aimed to identify the effect of selecting the place of Islamic cities in Arabia, Madain, and Iraq, and know the conditions and descriptions that can be taken into account when selecting the place of building. This research was not divided into sections; rather, it was introduced as an essay. The research concluded that caliphates, princes, and Muslim leaders who built cities paid attention to selecting healthy and economic places with good-climate sites that brought happiness for building their cities. Their selection was proceeded by moving to many places for selecting the best. After building cities, many rivers and water canals were dug to water gardens and farms around the city to improve the surrounding environment.
