Evaluation of Teaching Practice Programme of Arabic Student Teachers at Faculty of Education, Taiz University

This study aimed to evaluate the programme of teaching practice (practicum) through evaluating the performance of pre-service student teachers supervised by the university. The study was delimited to level IV students of Arabic Department, Faculty of Education, Taiz University. A 30-item questionnaire, composed of three uncontrolled questions, was used as a research tool. After submitting it to reviewers, it was administered to 10 students as a pilot study to calculate the reliability of data by using Spearman Coefficient. then, it was administered to 60 students of level IV students of Arabic. After analysing and discussing the data of 40 returned copies, a number of recommendations were introduced. For example, there is a need to increase the period of practice observation and design an accurate evaluation card, focusing on the period of presentation, selecting competent supervisors, connecting theatrical and with practical parts of teaching practice, using ''micro learning'', and increasing the period of teaching practice programme.
