Problematic Parsing in the Holy Quran

Abstract

This paper aimed to induce the quranic texts which show problematic parsing or various structural meanings due to the variety of parsing aspects. An analytical and inductive approach was used in this study. The research was divided into two main areas. The 1^st area addressed ''Problematic Parsing in Verses of Makkiah Surahs'' while the 2^nd one addressed ''Problematic Parsing in Verses of Madania Surahs'', in line with the sequence of surahs in both Makkiah and Madaniah stages. It was concluded that there were many quranic texts of problematic parsing or various parsing aspects due to differences in syntactic approaches and grammarians' views. In essence, these quranic texts may show various structural meanings, and some (or all) aspects of parsing, accordingly.
