The study aims to build a model for developing retirement system of faculty members in Yemeni universities, taking into account the trends, experiences, and practices followed in Arab and foreign universities highlighting absence of current retirement system for all state employees in Yemen and the negative outcomes it has produced. Experimental approaches were utilized in constructing the model. The study findings revealed that the retirement system designed for faculty members was based on several procedures included designing adaptation and gradual retirement mechanisms, determining the legal retirement age and actual years of service, designing mechanisms for calculating retirement pensions and benefits, defining administrative and academic responsibilities for retired faculty members, specifying the advantages and facilities provided to retirees, establishing an administrative body within the Ministry of Higher Education and Universities for retirees, implementing the proposed retirement system, and evaluating its effectiveness.
