#The research includes the investigation of a historical document, which contains a complaint from Sharif Mubarak bin Ahmed bin Zaid, one of the Sharifs of the Hijaz in the 12th century AH / 18th century CE. It was addressed to Sultan Ahmad III, the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. The document (the complaint) provides an explanation of the political conflict over governance and the position of Sharifate in the Holy City of Mecca, between Sharif Mubarak and Sharif Yahya bin Barkat, as well as the role of the Ottoman Empire in this conflict and its consequences.
