#The research highlights Dr. Mohammed Abed Al-Jabri's vision of modernity and his definition of its concept through his intellectual perspective and methodology in his intellectual project. It begins by defining the concept of modernity, presenting the elements of this definition, and examining its distinctiveness from the European definition. The research also addresses other concepts mentioned by Al-Jabri that intersect with the concept of modernity, namely the concepts of renaissance and renewal. The research also presents the critique directed by Al-Jabri towards the revivalist and renewalist movement and its proponents, who defined renewal as a return to the ways of the predecessors. Al-Jabri provides a definition of the concept of renewal, stating that it can only be achieved from within our heritage by invoking it and contemporaneously reclaiming it while preserving its contemporaneity and historicity. This allows us to transcend it while retaining it. The research also presents Al-Jabri's perspective on how the Arab Maghreb region has received ideas from the Arab Mashriq (East) and their impact.
