This study aimed to design a proposed course of nano-technology based on a technological approach to develop inventive thinking with students of scientific departments. To achieve the objectives of the study, an analytical descriptive methodology besides a quasi-experimental one were used. The sample of the study was composed of 32 students of level III majoring in chemistry and computer teacher. Then, a list of inventive thinking skills was prepared by the two researchers on which a test and proposed course were designed. Furthermore, the sample of the study was pre-tested, taught the proposed course (cf. treatment), and post-tested. To address the research questions and test the hypotheses of the study, the data were analyzed statistically using an SPSS Program. The findings of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the pre- and post-tests of inventive thinking skills in favour of the post-test; and the proposed course of nano-technology based on a technological approach was effective as it exceeded 1.2 of Black Modified Gain coefficient in the development of inventive thinking with students of scientific departments, Faculty of Applied and Educational Sciences, Al-Nadra, Ibb University.
