This article aims to provide an originalizing doctrinal study on doctrine scholars’ opinion on Takfir in Islam. It is divided into a general introduction and 5 sections. Section 1 deals with clarifying the ranks of Faith and Kufr. Section 2 pinpoints the deeds that instantiate takfir of those committing them. Section 3 deals with clarifying the crime of takfir of specific people. Section 4 discusses the provision of deliberate takfir of non-Muslims, and section 5 concludes the paper. The study employs the descriptive and analytic approach. The most important findings include the consensus that a kafir is a person who denies anything clearly prohibited, whose prohibition is frequent such as obscenities, injustice, lying, alcohol, etc.
