Abstract

This paper aimed to follow up the poets of the Prophet's (PBUH) battles, what was said of poetry in those battles, what was included of the fierce spirit in defending Islam and attacking its enemies, and what was included of artistic beauty. Using an analytical descriptive approach, the study was divided into two sections. Section I was titled ''Poetry along Battles'' which showed the Prophet's (PBUH) battles, and poetry said in those battles including thoughts and evidences used to rise intentions. Section II was titled ''Artistic Values in Battles Poetry'' which discussed the artistic aspect of that poetry. The study concluded that the poetry of battles coped with all battles and events, raising intentions in defending Islam and sacrificing for its cause. That poetry was influenced by the Holy Quran in words, meanings and forms where poets used rhetoric (i.e., simile, metaphor, and personification) to convey the meaning to the receiver's mind interestingly and effectively.
